Overview

We made an update to the Sienna harness that gives you two audio setup options:

1. Use CarPlay audio through the AUX input
2. Keep the factory DVD audio working through the vehicle speakers

This article explains how to choose the setup you want.

Option 1: Use CarPlay Audio Through AUX

Follow these steps if you want CarPlay audio to play through your vehicle speakers using the AUX channel.

Steps

1. Locate the AUX connection on the updated Sienna harness.
2. Connect the AUX cable/connector as shown in your installation setup.
3. Turn on the vehicle and launch CarPlay.
4. Switch the vehicle audio source to AUX.
5. CarPlay audio should now play through the speakers.

Result

• CarPlay audio works through AUX.
• Audio quality may improve compared to Bluetooth audio.
• Factory DVD audio may no longer play through the speakers while AUX is connected.

Option 2: Keep Factory DVD Audio

Follow these steps if you want to continue using the factory DVD audio system through the vehicle speakers.

Steps

1. Leave the AUX connection disconnected.
2. Complete the rest of the harness installation normally.
3. Use Bluetooth audio for CarPlay or media playback.

Result

• Factory DVD audio continues working through the speakers.
• CarPlay audio will use the Bluetooth channel instead of AUX.
