Here is an overview of how to update your Hamilton Conversion Kit for Toyota. It is very important to read all instructions before updating your unit to make sure you update to the correct version of software. Please make sure you have a stable WiFi connection to your home's WiFi or phone hotspot prior to updating.
Please be aware updating to software not meant for your version of car can damage your Hamilton unit. If you have any questions about which year range your Toyota is, contact Hamilton Customer Service prior to updating at support@hamiltonmotorcompany.com.

Written OTA Update Instructions:
Step 1: Connect to WIFI
*IMPORTANT : You cannot have a phone simultaneously connected to CarPlay and the hotspot so disconnect CarPlay first before connecting to WIFI.*
- Ensure the vehicle is parked in a location with a stable wifi connection. Disconnect CarPlay/Android Auto from your phone. (Link to how to disconnect CarPlay)
- Open Settings → Select “WiFi” from the sidebar → Connect to your WiFi Hotspot or home WiFi.
Step 2: Perform the OS Update
*IMPORTANT : Make sure to check and only update the software prescribed for your Hamilton Conversion Kit.* Check the above table for your correct versions.
- Click on apps tray from the left side bar of the screen
- Look for “OTA Upgrade App” on the apps screen. If not found open “APK Installer App” → Select OTA Upgrade App → Touch Install.
- Open “OTA Upgrade App” from the apps screen → A popup will appear: scroll down to click on OTA Upgrade App → Toggle ON to display over the other apps.
- Open “OTA Upgrade App” → Enter password 1776 and OK.
- Click on OS → Choose Online → Select latest version from the selection box → Click Start to confirm the download.
- After the download is completed, press OK on the popup screen and wait for upgrade to complete and device restart.
- If the update does not immediately start, click "Suspend" and "Resume" to begin loading and observe for completion and then let the device restart.
Step 3: Perform the MCU Update
- After the device restarts, check the WiFi Connection again from the settings screen.
- Navigate to “OTA Upgrade App” → Enter password 1776 and OK
- Click on MCU → Choose Online → Select MCU update from selection box → Click "Start" to confirm the download.
- After the download is completed, press OK on the popup screen and wait for upgrade to complete and device restart.
Step 4: Perform the CAN Update
- After the device restarts, check the WiFi Connection again from the settings screen.
- Navigate to “OTA Upgrade App” → Enter password 1776 and OK
- Click on CAN → Choose Online → Select Toyota → OK
- Click on latest CAN version from the above table → OK → Click "Start" to Confirm the download.
- After the download is completed, swipe down twice from top to bottom of the screen → Click on "Restart" icon to manually restart the device.
Step 5: Verify the updated software version
- Open Settings → Click on System → Click on Software version.
- Check the right portion of the screen to verify for the updated OS, MCU & CAN Version as per Hamilton software prescribed versions for your conversion kits.
