Use this procedure if any physical buttons (Back, Home, Power, Menu, etc.) are not working as expected.
Step 1: Open the Panel Key Programming Menu
- Open Settings.
- Navigate to System → Utility.
- Enter the system password when prompted:
- 1205 (most firmware versions)
- 1776 (older firmware versions)
Note: If your unit still uses 1776, updating the firmware may change the password to 1205.
Step 2: Enable Panel Key Learning
- Scroll down to Learn Panel Key.
- Turn Learn Panel Key ON.
Important: If Learn Panel Key is disabled, the programming options will not be available.
Step 3: Assign buttons
- Select the button function you want to customize (for example, Audio).
- Choose the desired action from the available list (for example, EQ).
- Press and hold the corresponding physical button on the head unit until the message "Button Learning Success" appears.
- The newly assigned function will be highlighted (typically blue) to indicate successful programming.
- Repeat the same steps for: Only if required Home, Power, Volume Up / Down and Any other available button.
Step 4: Save the Configuration
- Select Save.
- Wait for the settings to be stored.
The new button assignment takes effect immediately.
Step 5: Verify
- Exit the Settings menu.
- Press the programmed physical button.
- Confirm it performs the newly assigned function (for example, opening the EQ screen).
Notes
- Useful after OTA updates or new installations
- Reassigning a button will overwrite the previous setting
- Press only one button at a time
