Use these steps to check and fix if you cannot access the factory screen or factory backup camera after installing a Lexus IS or RC Hamilton Conversion Kit.
Step 1: Check OEM Screen Only Plug
- Locate the connector labeled “OEM Screen Only Plug” from the Hamilton harness
- Locate the connector from the Factory screen OEM Harness.
- Ensure it is fully connected to the Hamilton Motor Company harness
- This connector is commonly missed when pulling the factory screen out.
Step 2: Verify Yellow RCA Connections
- Confirm the yellow RCA cables are connected
- These must be connected between the Hamilton accessory harness and the Hamilton main harness
- Both RCA connections are required for proper video signal
Step 3: Check LVDS (Blue) Port and Cable
- Locate the blue LVDS cable from the factory screen harness
- Plug it directly into the blue LVDS port on the Hamilton screen
- Ensure the connection is fully seated and secure.
Final Verification
- Power on the vehicle
- Confirm:
- Factory screen displays correctly
- Factory backup camera activates when in reverse
Important Note
The most commonly missed connection is the OEM Screen Only Plug.
If left disconnected, the factory screen and backup camera will not function.
